The Author

Starting something new. Again.

This blog was something I had wanted to do for a while but didn’t know how and where to start. One day, I stumbled upon WordPress while reading around and decided to create MiBlog. MiBlog ran iPod Touch application reviews and general ramblings of my life. That went on but after a while, I left it, deleted it and disappeared from the world of blogs for reasons that seem stupid now. Eventually though, the desire to create a new blog emerged and I ran with it, wanting to get back to writing and “reporting”. The new blog came out and took on the same name of MiBlog but under a different domain – gomezm.wordpress.com. This time, I was doing much better and it stayed with me. The name eventually changed to iPodMac and weeks later, I realized that I should occupy a properly named domain. I transferred my blog over to ipodmac.wordpress.com and left the gomezm[dot] for general ramblings, which actually slowly died away.

So what to say of myself? I don’t know. I don’t really share my identity online much – except in closed circles and pockets of seclusion. My name? It reads “gomezm” as the author on posts, right? So that’s that. Age? Okay, why not – 20. Full time university student. Peer advisor, counsellor, mentor, coach, student ambassador, financial aid officer – some of the fancy titles I’ve held and still hold today.

I’ve been a Windows kid forever until last year when I got fed up of everthing Microsoft and I made the [long overdue] swich to Mac. I’ve never looked back. I rocked the original white iPod Nano until I saw the iPod Touch guided tour. I absolutely loved it and I ended up getting my Touch the week it came out, a brand spanking 1.1.1. Classy, right? I still remember the evening when I first jailbroke it too. Back then, it was 60 minutes of staring at a spinning wheel.

Anyway, this blog is first and foremost a gateway to the things that grab my attention. The world of Apple is populated with amazing people creating some truly remarkable things. When I peruse the internet, I often stumble on websites, forums, articles, or other blogs whose content I find so cool, I have to share it. It’s my curse. And this is where WordPress comes in. I do my part by bringing things to you. And maybe you could too? If you see something you might think I would like to read or maybe share here, why not let me know? And if you like what you read here, why not leave a comment before bouncing away? I hope that my little blog is doing its job well and that it does it better everyday, for many more days to come [Inserted cliche at end? Check].

Thanks for visiting!
